The Poverty Institute works to develop and promote policies to improve the economic security of low- and modest- income Rhode Islanders and ensure that tax and budget policies are equitable and adequate to fund vital public services.
Pharmaceutical Assistance Many drug companies offer certain drugs on a no-cost or low-cost basis for patients earning less than 200% FPL ($1,815/month for 1 person in 2011). Each company has its own eligibility criteria. The Pharmacy Program at URI helps match people with the appropriate company. The person's doctor needs to request the medication.
